Humble, Small Beginnings

The following pictures come from my fairy garden. They are small groupings of whimsy that I have put together this year and plan to expand on into the new year. My goal is to introduce you to them now and, upon completion next year, show you before-and-after comparisons of the evolution of these groupings. Enjoy.

These fairies are hard at work, making this potted soil their home, equipped with gardening tools and a wheel barrel and watering can in the background.

Here is an outdoor patio where my fairies like to rest after a hard days work.

These fairies sit together, shooting the breeze, while the other
fairies are down below, working hard.

Here is the Queen Fairy. She oversees life and growth in the fairy garden.

A Wee Baby Mushroom Fairy sleeps amongst the flowers, after a long
day of play. She is almost camouflaged.

Another Wee Baby Mushroom Fairy wonders what game should he play next?

I found this lone mushroom growing amongst the flowers in my Fairy Garden.

This is the Tree of Wisdom. Fairies and other animals - pictured here
are a porcupine, dragon and birds - like to gather around and listen
to the tales he tells.

The start of my English Cottage Gardens.

Aurora is enjoying a beautiful morning outside her mushroom cottage.

A Fairy Staycation is much more enjoyable when you
have your very own beach!

Yet another cottage in the neighborhood. Gnomes and Fairies are known
to live together, each pulling their own weight, of course.

This cottage is move-in ready! Perfect for a single tenant or small family. Contact your Fairy realtor today.

This Fairy dwelling surely has younglings. As you can see,
there is a fairy play house out front for them.

Bitsy sits under an arbor, enjoying the company of a butterfly
and the lovely afternoon.

One of many inspiring visual displays within the store.

I have been shopping here since 1998. This place inspires me to be more creative. Check out their website for a calendar of classes and events. I was impressed at the organization of the classes and please to find that if you purchase supplies there, they invite you to work on your craft in the store in designated areas that have access to items like paper cutters.

Classes include:
Among Friends - "Bring your cropping supplies and join the scrapbooking crowd."
"Enchantment Grows Here" reads this charming garden sign.
Card Club - "Making handmade cards."
The Club to Die For - "Each month we feature favorite new releases and make samples to inspire us! Make a project in class together."
Miniature bird houses made during
a craft class held in store.
Senior Card Club - "You will love this class where you make three cards and enjoy the company of others who share your passion."

Collective Journey is also full of amazing treasures for home accessories, garden art, art supplies, die cutting, scrapbooking, handmade cards and, of course, fairy gardens. With 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, the shop and the staff earned a rating of 10!

Magic in Full Bloom

This morning when I came out to my enchanted fairy garden I was greeted by a wonderful surprise. I discovered this magical mystery flower in full bloom. I do not recall planting a flower here and suspect that this is the clever doing of my fairies. These fairies are hard at work creating new things to make themselves at home in their garden.

My best guess at what sort of flower this is (thanks to a google image search) is Amaryllis belladonna

I give this thrift store 4 stars

I found that this thrift store has tons of stuff for me to use in my Fairy Garden. I visit this thrift store every two to three months and I find three or four things that I can use in my Garden.

Everyone is super friendly and helpful every time I go into this store. There are no prices on any items in the store but when I ask the workers, they provide me with an okay price. If I don't like the price, then I will not buy the items.

Just like any other thrift store you do have to look very carefully for good finds and some things are a little dirty, but you can always clean them up. During this visit, I had probably walked by a pair of fairies ten times and never saw them until I stopped to take photos. Perhaps they were playing hide and seek?

Thrift Stores are made for treasure hunters. This store has a lot of treasures if you just look. TJP Thrift Store has been serving customers in Yucaipa since 2011.
