Challenge Accepted - Container Garden Challenge Summer 2019

Yet another challenge put out by the wonderful Denise Jordan over on YouTube. She co-hosted this challenge previously, but I didn't know about it then, so this year I made sure to participate! #ContainerGardenChallengeSummer2019

The final result turned out beautifully! I think it really encompasses Summer, because with this California heat, I might want to go live under the sea soon! This container will be an addition to Fairy Shores once the area gets all cleaned up.

Independence Day

Happy Independence Day! It's July 4th and that means this festive mouse returns from storage to celebrate the holiday with fireworks! He is happy among red, white and blue flowers proudly posing under the American flag.

I managed to only spend $6 on decor for this container garden since the rest of the supplies were already in my inventory. This tropical themed garden will help me spruce up my Fairy Shores, something I've been meaning to redesign and bring back to life. Nothing like a challenge to inspire progress!

Food Garden Friday - Springing The Heat

This week's feature in my food garden is this large container. There are a few purple viola on either side in the front and some yellow and purple snapdragons on either side in the rear, the cost of these flowers were less than a $1 since I purchased them in 6 packs at Lowe's. There is also cilantro, Ancho Pepper and radish which, when paired with tomatoes and onions that I'm growing elsewhere in my garden, will make up a very nice salsa.

These little sprouts are the radish making their way up. They're so cute when they're young. The grass clippings are here to hopefully keep the moisture in. Spring has just begun, but here in California, when the sun is out, it gets hot pretty quick.

These three characters are taking a trip down the lazy river in their make-shift leaf boats. I wonder if they're training for anything? I know last Summer they had a race - I wonder if they're up for it again this year?

Fairy of the Flame

I found this fairy recently during a trip to a secondhand store, after my trip to Veggiepalooza. She was  $5 and I also purchased the green pebbles from the Dollar Tree. The container and succulent cuttings were all things I already had, so this garden was only $6. Wow! What a vibrant garden!

New Faces and April's Contest

This container garden was created with $12 - a little pricey compared to what I've been creating recently, but it's nice to splurge once in a while. The farmer, Sweet Miah, his wife, Jessica, the goat, sheep and chicken (as well as a farm house not pictured here) were all part of a set that was $12. Everything else in this container is something I already had, including the plants.

Oh, and at the end of the video I talk about the new contest we're having starting April 1. I'm trying to get as many new YouTube subscribers as possible, so tell your friends and make sure they let us know (in YouTube comments) YOU sent them so you can get credit for it and possibly win a prize!

Fairy Garden Class - Treehouse

This fairy garden container was created with flowers and pot purchased at Home Depot and the house and fairies were already in my garden. I spent around $16 for this container garden. I've put together a video below that is also posted on my YouTube channel.
