Food Garden Friday - Rabbit Hill

Existing strawberries and blueberries along with the new additions of Fairy Tale Eggplant and low-cost flowers helped spruce up this area of my food garden. I have renamed this area Rabbit Hill. I've also had these rabbit statues for over 15 years. I love outdoor decor that can withstand the elements!

Mr. Peanut's Nap

Mr. Peanut is relaxing after a long day of running around at the house of one of My Fairy Folks who invited me over to look at some new additions to her yard.

"Smile Mr. Peanut, give me a smile," I chirped. But instead of a smile...

...he stuck out his tongue.

Light and Laughter

Recently, a new development took place here at Grandma's Enchanted Fairy Garden. I took Mr. Peanut out to go potty before we went to bed as we usually do, but just before we were ready to go back inside, Mr. Peanut stopped and looked at me. "What?" I asked. He looked in the direction of my garden, his ears perked and his nose sniffing the air. He quickly left the front porch and head toward the back.

"Mr. Peanut, where are you going!?" I followed his wagging tail around the corner and looked in the direction he was heading. I saw a faint light that I hadn't noticed before. Could this be what Mr. Peanut sensed? I moved closer and realized there was a sound coming from the direction as well. Maybe this is what Mr. Peanut heard that caught his attention. I got closer to investigate.

Mr. Peanut was very interested but very quiet and sat calmly until I reached the light. I realized the sounds I heard were laughter! Two snowmen were swinging all alone but seemed very joyful. "Wheee!" said the young one on the swing. "Not too high," said the other in a careful tone. They seemed to be a father and son. I listened as they sang a Christmas song together and applauded lightly when they finished before introducing myself.

"Oh how wonderful that we have this chance to meet," said the father. "It's been quite warm during the day when I've been told you visit often so I was hoping we would happen upon you one night."
I smiled. "You can thank Mr. Peanut here for that. I was ready to go back inside but he heard your laughter and I followed him over here. I'm happy to meet you."
"My son and I would like to thank you for making such a wonderful place for us to swing by on our travels." We all laughed at his pun and sang some songs together before Mr. Peanut and I called it a night.

New Year, New Life - 2018

This new year is a bit more special than normal for us here at Grandma's Enchanted Fairy Garden. Dustin made his first appearance on December 24, born to my grandson John and wife Chelsea. They have all been busy with visitors in the past week (we have a very large family), but they made time to come visit my garden.

My husband held Dustin, both soaking in the warm California morning sun. This is Mr. Peanut's first time meeting Dustin and he doesn't look too happy about it. Grandpa's lap is normally Mr. Peanut's territory, so it's understandable. The warm sunshine is just what the doctor ordered for Dustin's mild jaundice.

Look at this happy family! Welcome to the world, Dustin.

I hope My Fairy Folks have had a wonderful year and will continue into the new year with us.

Frequent Visitor

Mr. Peanut lives in Grandma's house and visits the fairies daily, making sure that the fairy gardens are safe of any pesky cats or rodents. He is sure not to knock over any furniture and stays on the paths. He is very gentle and the fairies have taken to him quickly. Grandma took this picture of Mr. Peanut listening in on some of the fairies gossiping. This photo goes out to Google follower Wandering Wren; you have posted so many pictures of your furry friend that I wanted to show you one of Mr. Peanut (and more to come in the future).
