Garden A Day Challenge - Day 19, International Picnic Day

Does this scene look a little familiar? Just a few adjustments from the last scene and we have a new holiday to celebrate; International Picnic Day. In this photo you can actually see the red rim of the repurposed BBQ grill. Luca is relaxing on the driftwood, while Nadya sits on her on ladybug listing off her favorite Summer activities to council members Dianna and Radella.

Caspian and Poppy have helped themselves to some delicious snacks.

Julip and Ivy find a secluded area nearby to set up a picnic.

Thanksgiving with the Hoos

Hootie Hoo

Thanksgiving here at Grandma's Enchanted Fairy Garden was a new take on old traditions. Hootie Hoo was unable to be home for the holidays since he is currently traveling with his friends Hazel and Grover. Mr. and Mrs. Hoo were sad to hear this news since Thanksgiving is their favorite holiday, but decided to turn this situation into a perfect opportunity for a new tradition. This year, a few fairies were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hoo and enjoyed so much food and friendly conversations with a lot of laughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoo enjoy the company of a few fairies from the community. Each guest arrived with an offering. On the table are some cheesy broccoli, apple turnovers and Elderberry wine.

Susie Q (rear left) arrived with some ears of corn and Sharie with a bale of fresh cut wheat. The girls are enjoying one another's company before the main course is served.

Nadya looks after Luca who can hardly keep his eyes open, perhaps due to drinking too much Elderberry wine. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Caspian (bottom left), Blossom and Tink are sharing their thoughts on what they are thankful for this year.

The Traveling Life

This morning I was greeted with a pleasant surprise - two faeries I'd never seen before were relaxing by the pond, seemingly pretty tired. I introduced myself and learned that Nadya and Luca had traveled all night and settled here just before dawn. Luca looks very exhausted here - he was trying very hard not to be rude and fall asleep while Nadya and I had most of the conversation.

Here is their unique home! It is a hollowed out log that they've made into a very comfortable house. According to Nadya (and approved by Luca's nod), they are travelers, never staying in one place too long but always bringing with them their house.

Their supplies are stored on the back of their home securely which makes it easy to access and cook outdoors. Nadya is hoping to makes some friends here and have them over for a meal to share the stories of their travels.
