Very Special Valentine

Caspian, left, seen chatting with Tink.
It's been quite a while since I've sat and talked with Grace but just this morning she came to me, asking for my help. It turns out that she's been quite busy with The Fairy Bugle which is a newsletter she's been in charge of that helps keep all the fairies in the know, especially busy fairies like the Queen and distant friends like Buddy the Elf. Grace asked if I could bring my camera to the garden to capture a special moment she was tipped off on. I was eager to help and followed her, being sure to be discrete. Before hiding amidst the greenery, Grace pointed in the direction she wanted me to focus on. I looked toward a red tin container with some colorful flowers and also noticed two fairies, Caspian and Tink. I assumed this was what Grace wanted me to capture so I kept my distance and took some pictures.

It turns out that Caspian had informed Grace ahead of time that he planned to ask Tink a very important question and wanted to capture the moment in photo and story.

Caspian pulled out a bouquet of flowers and offered them to Tink.

"These are for you," Caspian said. "I realize I get you flowers every Valentine's Day but these are a special kind of flower."

"Oh?" Tink questioned. "How so?"

"This bouquet is actually not your Valentine's gift. I admit, I didn't get you a Valentine gift this year but it was because I was planning something much better. This, Tink, is an engagement bouquet and I am offering it to you in hopes that you'll accept it, and me as your mate."

Tink immediately jumped up and down excitedly. "Of course I do! Yes, yes, yes! Absolutely, one hundred times yes!" Her wings took her up into the air and head over feet into a few aerial tumbles before she flew back down and wrapped her arms around Caspian who was laughing.

Tink took the bouquet in her arms and smiled wide, finding it hard to keep from giggling with glee. Grace came out of hiding to congratulate the two and let Tink know that this would be in the newsletter and that photos had been taken to preserve the moment. Grace and I left the two to enjoy each other's company and talk about all the possibilities the future has.

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours. Did anything great happen to any of My Fairy Folks this Valentine's Day?

Thanksgiving with the Hoos

Hootie Hoo
Thanksgiving here at Grandma's Enchanted Fairy Garden was a new take on old traditions. Hootie Hoo was unable to be home for the holidays since he is currently traveling with his friends Hazel and Grover. Mr. and Mrs. Hoo were sad to hear this news since Thanksgiving is their favorite holiday, but decided to turn this situation into a perfect opportunity for a new tradition. This year, a few fairies were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hoo and enjoyed so much food and friendly conversations with a lot of laughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoo enjoy the company of a few fairies from the community. Each guest arrived with an offering. On the table are some cheesy broccoli, apple turnovers and Elderberry wine.

Susie Q (rear left) arrived with some ears of corn and Sharie with a bale of fresh cut wheat. The girls are enjoying one another's company before the main course is served.

Nadya looks after Luca who can hardly keep his eyes open, perhaps due to drinking too much Elderberry wine. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Caspian (bottom left), Blossom and Tink are sharing their thoughts on what they are thankful for this year.

Brianna's Tour - The School

One morning while Brianna had been chatting with Zookned, Leeann and Patrick, Queen AmberLynn made a surprise visit. After formal greetings the Queen announced that today she would take Brianna on a tour of the school. Brianna said farewell to her friends, excited to see the place where she would be spending most of her time as the newest teacher.

Queen AmberLynn, left, waits patiently as Brianna says goodbye to Zookned, Leeann and Patrick.

In a matter of moments, they both flew over the school yard. Brianna couldn't believe how much was going on! There were a few small groups of kids and teachers spread out all over, each learning something different.

AmberLynn and Brianna quietly land near the school yard.

The Queen explains to Brianna what her role will be in the school before she fills out paperwork with Radella. Beginning next semester, an herb garden should be in bloom to get Brianna started with her lessons.

Brianna and the Queen hash out the details on the new class.

The two of them continue with the tour of the school, meeting teachers and students in their learning spaces.

A large group of students gather round the Tree of Wisdom. This is where most of the lessons take place for all ages. Today they are learning about fairy history.

Willow, center, reads a story to the children in the play area. Willow has been in charge of teaching the younger children for a while now since she has shown that she is very patient and caring, and the children love when she sings her lessons.

April, left, and June enjoy some time with the music teachers, Maestro and Minstrel. Maestro is the taller of the two and specializes is composing music while Minstrel has a way with words, singing bardic tales. The duo create lovely melodies that harmonize and inspire. During their music classes children learn how to sing traditional fairy songs, read music and, with the help of guest teachers, learn to play instruments.

The Queen's Courtyard

Welcome to the Queen's Courtyard. Here you see Queen AmberLynn overseeing the community meeting which is addressing the ups and downs of the Halloween Festival and discussing plans for the upcoming Holidays.

The Fairy Council shares with the rest of the leaders and community representatives what they felt were the pros and cons of the Halloween Festival.

Rose, Tink and Samm suggest that the next holiday celebration be a little more watered down than the Halloween Festival extravaganza. Perhaps then everything will go smoothly.

Andy the Scarecrow sits next to the young fairies Nicholai, Bitsy and Johnny Jump (L to R) who also have opinions on this matter.

Queen AmberLynn does her best to set a good example for her daughter, Princess Jezelle, hoping she will pay attention to the way a Queen runs community meetings since Jezelle will be expected to at some point in the future.

Jezelle had every intention to listen well, but Mr. Blue the Peacock would much rather play and is becoming a distraction.

Despite her efforts, Jezelle finally gives in and loses concentration on the meeting to play with Mr. Blue.

Brittania, Keeper of the Dragons, listens intently whilst Mr. Smokey snuggles up at her feet. Lucky looks on, a bit jealous of the attention Mr. Smokey is getting, but too stubborn to vie for affection.
