This decorative paver was a gift from my daughter probably 20 years ago when I first began gardening. Since then, it has sat out in the yard under a tree. The elements took their toll on this sentimental piece but I knew a new paint job would bring it new life. I also decided it needed to have a more prominent position in my garden.
I began with one base white coat.
I covered that with two coats of yellow paint.
Now this piece is what welcomes people to my food garden.
This container garden is a mix of gifted items and re-purposing existing items. The container was gifted to me by one of My Fairy Folks recently. Once filled with soil, I transferred some plants from my food garden. The yellow backdrop was purchased from a discount store a while back which I'd repainted to stand out more. The house and path were items I already had. All other decorations were gifted to me by my daughter.
This happy flower will direct you to neighboring locations. These locations don't exist yet in my garden but you can be sure that they will soon enough.
This sign has a warning for all who pass by which is emphasized by the chunk that has seemingly been bitten out of it!
The flying bees, tiny flowers, shoes and fashionable boots add a little extra personality to this small cottage and tell a little bit about who might live here.
For Christmas I received this Glow-in-the-Dark Terrarium kit from one of my grand-daughters (among some other wonderful Fairy Garden items). I had some free time recently and am here to report how this kit worked out.

Here are the contents of the kit all laid out, excluding the glow-in-the-dark stickers (which I decided not to use on my kit so that I could see everything better). The lid was definitely my favorite part of this kit. Unfortunately the amount of glow-in-the-dark sand provided does not measure up with what is shown on the box. I was sad to learn that the sand is the only thing in this kit that glows and it ended up being barely visible (I tested the stickers and they gave a vague glow as well).
I actually decided to add extra white pebbles since the kit's supply was so small. The blue pebbles were skimpy as well and only on this side of the jar. I also placed the glow sand on the same side because there wasn't even enough to have a noticeable layer all the way around!
I added the "grass" that came with the kit (which is made to look like moss but I honestly don't know what it is made of). The "grass" that came with the kit was in abundance so I only used about 1/4 of the supply and it was so fine that it was hard to keep it from seeping through the layer of pebbles. I would suggest you put a layer of sand between the pebbles and the grass to prevent it from seeping down. But I will say that this grass allowed the figurines to remain stable, whereas using moss might allow them to shift.
Here's a picture I took of the completed kit in my bathroom. I tried to take a picture outside at night, but it wasn't visibly glowing and I could only see the sand glow when I was in complete darkness. Realize that this kit did come with glow-in-the-dark stickers which might make it look better at night, but I think it'd block the view of the contents during the day. If you get this kit, I'd suggest buying extra glow-in-the-dark sand. Overall, I think this is an easy kit for young children but could be made better with, at the least, more glow-in-the-dark sand. Hey, maybe even get some glow-in-the-dark paint and put it on the fairy wings and the horse body. It's your kit, get creative.

This big lot of farm decor was a great gift from my daughter who knew I was gearing up to make a farm-themed fairy garden. On the left is a cute little chicken coop to house all the little chickies, hens, roosters and eggs in a nest. A small sign reads "Farm, sweet farm" next to a cute little barn, tractor and water tower. Three little piggies huddle together near the farming tools. Also included is a curved, wooden bridge (a good opportunity to put over a stream) and a few bags of hay bales.
These items are also from my daughter. There are a few bird houses, weather vane, bunches of broccoli, wheel barrels, some cut wood logs, a white picket fence and a water well. I was exited to find out that the crank on the well actually works, allowing the pail to move up and down.
These items were gifted to me by another family member and include two fairies, a small water well, a slide and a teeter totter, as well as a swing set, all wonderful for a little play area for all the young fairies in my garden.
This kit was gifted by one of my granddaughters. I will be putting it together and let you all know how it turned out. This particular kit comes with glow in the dark sand as well as a fairy and a friendly unicorn.

I received a wonderful gift recently from one of My Fairy Folks in the mountains nearby. Creating fairy gardens has become so much easier in the last few years based on all the gifts I receive! Let that be a lesson; the more you share your interests with people, the more they might see something great and think of you! Not only did I spend no money on this building, but all components of this layout were items I already had or found in my yard. No cost fairy garden - Score!
This cute log cabin has been turned into a Bed and Breakfast, perfect for traveling fairies or even a quaint stay-cation! How inviting does this place look!? Seating outside is available for guests to enjoy the scenery. Inside there is plenty of room - if you notice there are 4 levels to this establishment so feel free to vacation here as a group!
Here is a view of the side of the building. The lights are off but there's plenty of activity going on inside as the staff prepare for the grand opening.
Now that this layout looks its best, it's time to relocate it in the community. Check back next time when it finds its new home.
Above are some of the wonderful gifts I received from my children this past Mother's Day weekend. My daughter gave me some beautiful flowers in a vase and plans to take me to the beach for brunch. Also pictured is a "Create Your Own Fairy Garden" by Creative Roots gifted to me by youngest son which includes a handful of accessories and includes a wooden planter. And finally, not pictured, my eldest son and husband came together to fund the purchase of a Fairy Treehouse I've had my eye on for quite some time. It is about 5ft tall and... well, I won't spoil it. You'll have to wait until June to see it. I hope the rest of my readers had an enjoyable Mother's Day as well.
